Arrange your access booking

Contact Waterfront customer services on 028 9033 4455 or customerservicesbwuh@waterfront.co.uk before choosing your Northern Ireland Open ticket. Explain your wheelchair position, transfer requirements, companion arrangement or hearing support. The main accessibility page asks visitors to request a suitable booking format at least five working days before the event.

The venue’s online instructions allow wheelchair and companion places to be booked together. For a party of two, the FAQ describes selecting two wheelchair-accessible seats and then selecting one wheelchair requirement in the dropdown. Follow the current booking screen and ask customer services if the options differ. An essential-companion application updates the customer account so eligible bookings can be handled correctly.

An essential companion helps with supervision or assistance during the visit. The venue offers a free companion place subject to eligibility and available capacity. The companion must be over 18 and able to provide the required help. The tournament tariff separately notes a free carer for a registered disabled visitor. Confirm the order category and the position of both seats with the venue.

Step-free arrival and drop-off

Waterfront Hall’s main entrance is at street level. The public areas have lifts between floors, a ramp to customer services and a lowered service-counter section. Give staff your arrival time and destination so they can direct you to the appropriate lift and spectator entrance.

The hall’s access FAQ describes a drop-off arrangement through the entrance bollards with 48 hours’ notice. It also identifies the Hilton roundabout about 50 metres away as an alternative. There is no visitor parking at the entrance. Arrange an accessible taxi collection with customer services for after the session, including the actual point where the driver should wait.

Lanyon Place car park is the nearby published accessible-parking option. The venue FAQ describes approximately 40 accessible bays on levels B, D and F and a footbridge route of about 100 metres. Confirm the current bay availability, lift operation, vehicle height and opening hours with the car-park operator before relying on that route. The general visitor page still lists Oxford Street parking, while the access FAQ marks the Hilton Oxford Street car park closed; choose a currently confirmed operator route.

Lanyon Place railway station is a five-minute walk for the general visitor route. That allowance describes proximity, not a surveyed step-free walking time. Ask Translink about boarding assistance and station access for the service you will use. Grand Central is a separate arrival point; the venue travel section explains the interchange and bus options.

Wheelchair places and the snooker view

WST’s published 2026 single-table plan marks wheelchair positions in Block Y. Blocks X and Z sit alongside the long sides of the table, while Y faces a table end. Ask the box office for the exact wheelchair place, companion seat and entry route for your particular session. This plan covers the semi-finals and final, when the tournament uses one table.

The earlier rounds use unreserved admission, and the checked plan gives no early-round accessible viewing map. Tell the venue which date and admission product you want so the team can explain the viewing area before you pay. The number of early tables and any auditorium partition remain a research gap in the event’s round-by-round section.

Limited venue wheelchairs are available, and staff can advise about equipment storage. Arrange these services ahead of arrival. Keep aisles and emergency routes clear and ask a steward where a mobility aid can be left when transferring to a seat.

Hearing assistance and communication

The current accessibility page describes Sennheiser MobileConnect over venue Wi-Fi. It uses a free app on your own device with headphones. Bring a charged device and speak to staff about connecting it while keeping ordinary phone use silent. If airplane mode is needed, Wi-Fi can be enabled again for the authorised audio connection.

[UNVERIFIED: which hearing-assistance system will operate for the 2026 snooker sessions.] The older FAQ describes infrared and an induction loop, while the current access page names MobileConnect. Customer services should confirm the event’s system, supported headphones and your seating position.

The venue asks for eight weeks’ notice to request British or Irish Sign Language interpretation. The 2026 tournament is now closer than that lead time; contact the team directly about any available support. Written booking communication can also help establish the entry route and staff meeting point before your visit.

Toilets, assistance dogs and sensory support

A Changing Places facility is listed in the Riverside Foyer. Ask staff for access and directions from your seating area. The venue’s accessibility material also describes conference-area provision, so establish which facility and route will be open for your snooker session.

Assistance dogs are welcomed. The FAQ requests 48 hours’ notice so the team can prepare a suitable location and discuss the visit. Explain any requirements for space, seating and relief breaks when booking. Use the approved spectator route when leaving and returning during play.

Waterfront is JAM friendly and holds the Autism NI Impact Award. Its access page lists sensory cooldown support for children up to six and sensory packs for children aged six and over. Packs include a pop-it, timer, ear defenders and gel shapes. Ask for the relevant resource before your arrival rather than searching for it during a match.

Familiarisation visits can be arranged by email. The hall opens for events, so book a visit with the access team instead of turning up to explore an empty building. Describe what you want to practise: the entrance, lift journey, seat location or toilet route. The event listing requires under-16s to be accompanied by an adult.

Help during the session

On arrival, tell a steward about the assistance agreed with customer services. If your route, seat or hearing connection differs from the booking information, ask the team before play begins. For an urgent emergency, call 999 and give Waterfront Hall, 2 Lanyon Place, Belfast BT1 3WH, then alert venue staff so they can direct responders.

The venue day guide covers bag size, payment and audience rules. The Northern Ireland Open event guide carries the timetable, fee-inclusive ticket examples and match lengths. Keep the customer-service contact and your booking reference with your saved ticket.
