Alexandra Palace: accessibility for snooker visitors

Plan the hill, the West Hall entrance and your arena position with the access team before buying tickets.

Checked on 5 October 2026

Before booking

The Masters is in West Hall, with temporary seating rather than the Palace Theatre’s permanent stalls and circle. Tell Visitor Services the date, afternoon/evening session and your needs. Ask about the route to your exact space, companion position and sightlines.

Contact: access@alexandrapalace.com · 020 8365 2121 Monday–Friday 9am–5pm. The general ticketing page also gives 020 8365 4343. Event arrangements were checked 5 October 2026.

Accessible tickets and companions

Brown areas on the 2027 Masters seating plan mark wheelchair places near the red bank. Book the accessible allocation rather than assume an ordinary seat is suitable. Confirm whether you stay in your wheelchair or transfer, and how any mobility aid is stored.

The venue supplies a free companion ticket with allocated accessible tickets. For a general admission booking needing a companion, contact Visitor Services. Its ticketing page requests evidence and says See Tickets gives seven days to respond after the first booking; check how this works with the actual WST seller.

Accepted evidence includes PIP/DLA, a Blue Badge, Access Card or an official medical letter. The team can consider other circumstances individually. Send documents only through the venue or seller’s requested channel, not this guide.

Getting to the hill

Alexandra Palace station and Wood Green are below the venue. The park paths climb; the estimated 15–20-minute rail-station walk and 25–30-minute Tube walk are not a step-free access audit.

The Palace names Finsbury Park as its nearest step-free rail/Tube option. From there the W3 stops by Palm Court and Ice Rink. Check lift status, bus operation and the required stop before travel; January services may change.

For a taxi, ask for the Masters’ accessible drop-off, not the Theatre entrance. The venue’s general travel page lists a Palm Court west-slip-road drop-off; event traffic restrictions can change the approach. Agree a pickup point and flexible time.

Blue Badge parking

Blue Badge parking is free across the site, with bays in East Court and Grove. Scan the badge’s barcode at a pay machine to register the exemption. Spaces are first come, first served; the snooker event’s designated area should be confirmed in advance.

Grove involves a short uphill approach and normally closes at 7pm; event hours differ. Ask which car park will remain open after your session and how far its route is from the accessible entrance. The ordinary car-park map cannot establish the Masters arrangement.

Entrance and queues

General West Hall entry is through Palm Court. Contact Visitor Services if queueing is difficult and arrange where to meet staff. [UNVERIFIED: Masters-specific 2027 accessible entrance and arrival procedure.] The published concert entrance/platform instructions refer to Great Hall concerts, so their wristbands and arrival deadlines are not applied to snooker here.

The event advertises 11.30am doors; evening admission details need confirmation. Discuss medicines, medical food/drink and equipment before coming, especially anything that could trigger security checks. The venue explicitly welcomes medical requirements.

Toilets and Changing Places

West Hall has accessible toilets. Ask for the nearest one to your allocated space and whether you can reach it without stairs. Arrange any need to leave during a frame before play.

The Changing Places facility is in the East Lightwell entrance on the South Terrace. It has a height-adjustable bench and sink, hoist, screen and shower. It is normally closed to the public; Visitor Services escorts users. Arrange access in advance, including evening use and the route from West Hall.

Sensory, hearing and assistance support

Quiet spaces and sensory bags are available through Visitor Services. If the bag is for a child under seven, discuss its use with staff. The venue asks to hold ID when lending sensory equipment; supplies are not guaranteed. Ear defenders and other support equipment can be requested.

Hearing loops are provided at service/box-office points. [UNVERIFIED: Masters arena hearing-loop coverage.] A Premium commentary radio is not proof of an auditorium hearing loop. Confirm what listening equipment works for the televised match.

Assistance dogs are welcome on site; contact the team about the seat position or any minding service. Limited wheelchair hire can be booked in advance. If you need an individual emergency evacuation plan, ask for the venue’s PEEP assessment before arrival.

Leaving and useful links

Evening play has no guaranteed finishing time. Agree support through the departing crowd and a pickup that can change. If using W3 or rail, check the last service, lift status and a backup route on the day.

Read the venue access information, accessible ticketing and its event-day gradient map. Return to the Alexandra Palace hub or Masters 2027. For immediate danger call 999, give Alexandra Palace, Alexandra Palace Way, London N22 7AY; West Hall and alert a steward.
